Chile's dominant air carrier LAN Airlines said on Tuesday its 2007 profit rose 28 percent as strong growth in passenger and cargo traffic offset higher fuel costs. The company, one of the region's largest carriers, said profit for the year was USD$308.3 million, versus USD$241.3 million in 2006. LAN had 52.5 percent market share in international flights in Chile last year. Domestically, it controlled 74.9 percent of passenger traffic.  (Reuters)
